Weddings at Westminster Chapel

Westminster is a former church that is now a non-denominational chapel and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The old chapel was renovated specifically for weddings and special events. It was tastefully revived while keeping the chapel’s classic look and charm. 

The Chapel and Ballroom

An abundance of age-old pieces and styles throughout the venue gives it a distinctively classic and romantic feel. 

The chapel has hand-crafted wooden doors, high ceilings, and mahogany Chiavari chairs. There are also traditional chapel bells that will ring as you walk out of the venue. 

A 100-year-old pipe organ is also in the chapel, along with stained-glass windows that let in plenty of natural light. The largest of the stained-glass windows is situated at the back of the room, which makes a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding day pictures. 

Attached to the chapel is the ballroom, which is the perfect spot for receptions, showers, and rehearsal dinners. The sophisticated charm from the chapel has been carried over to the reception room. It can be seen in its enchanting chandeliers and high wooden-beamed ceiling. A second story overlooks the dance floor so you can see the lovely earthy tones from the wood floors and staircases. 

Location

Westminster Chapel is located in Mendon, a suburb of Rochester. The town’s scenery is best described as quiet and lush. 

Besides the chapel, a popular spot for formal wedding pictures is the Mendon Station Park, which is located directly behind the venue. Its old railroad tracks, benches and greenery make for ideal outdoor shots. 

There are many hotels conveniently located just 10 minutes away in Victor, NY. The chapel is also close to Eastview Mall, restaurants, and parks like the Mendon Ponds Park, so there’s always something to do in the area. 

Hosting Your Wedding

Westminster Chapel is the perfect venue if you’re looking for something romantic and intimate. The chapel can accommodate 200 guests. In its attached reception room, it can seat 180 with a dance floor or 200 guests without. 

The venue has a 50-guest minimum, except on Saturdays during the months of September and October when there is a 100-guest minimum. Packages include table linens and napkins, a tasting event and complimentary cake cutting to name a few.
